A 41-year-old woman, Tiyanjane Macdonald, has been ordered to pay a K650,000 fine by the Blantyre Magistrate’s Court after she poured boiling water on her husband while he was asleep.
According to reports, Sub Inspector Felezia Zaina said the incident happened on May 25, 2025, after Tiyanjane found her husband talking to another woman at Majiga Market. She attacked the other woman, and when her husband tried to break up the fight, she stopped. But when they got home, she poured boiling water on him, causing serious injuries.
Tiyanjane pleaded guilty in court and begged for forgiveness. But the court went ahead with the ruling, giving her the option of paying K650,000 or facing jail time.
