The much-anticipated Hive Experience has been cancelled following a tragic road accident involving members of the Hive Band, which has resulted in the loss of several lives.


According to a statement released by Eli Njuchi, the accident claimed the lives of key members of the band, including the guitarist, vocalist, drummer and the artist liaison. The victims were travelling in preparation for the upcoming Hive Experience when the accident occurred.
Among the deceased, Ralph Chisonga and Mcpharen Banda have been confirmed. The identities of the other victims will be shared once their families have been officially informed.


In his statement, Eli Njuchi said the decision to cancel the event was made to allow space for mourning and to focus on supporting the families, colleagues and loved ones affected by the tragedy.
“This is a deeply painful moment. My priority is to honour the lives lost and stand with those grieving,” the statement reads.

The Malawian music community has since begun pouring in messages of condolence, remembering the departed as dedicated creatives who played a vital role in shaping the Hive sound.
