Sky Energy Founder Schizzo Thomson Declines Consumer Choice Awards Nomination

Entrepreneur and Founder of Sky Energy Africa, Schizzo Thomson, has declined his nominations for the Consumer Choice Awards’ “Most Inspiring Male Business Leader” & “Most Inspiring Male Corporate Leader.”

Schizzo was nominated as an inspiring male business leader with Thomson Mpinganjira (FDH Bank), Wisley Phiri (Sparc Systems) and Shakeel Karim (Lilongwe Dairy). He was also nominated as an inspiring male corporate leader with Wisley Phiri, Daniel Dunga (Nico) and Benedicto Nkhoma (Legacy BV Holdings).

In a heartfelt statement, Schizzo expressed gratitude for the recognition but emphasized that others, including his mentors Daniel Dunga and Benedicto Nkhoma, are more deserving of the accolade.

He credited Dunga and Nkhoma for their foundational support in his entrepreneurial journey.

He says: Dunga provided a platform through the Blantyre Entrepreneurs Hub Pitch Night, which was instrumental in the early stages of Sky Energy Africa. Nkhoma, initially a client, became a significant advocate, opening doors and championing Schizzo’s work. Both mentors were among the first to hear about his electric vehicle initiative in 2019, years before its official launch in 2023.

Schizzo won the Innovative Entrepreneur Award at last year’s Maso Awards.
