Lingadzi Police have arrested Amos Charles and Joel Salanda, two guys who thought they could catfish their way to riches by creating fake Facebook accounts using Triephonia Thomson Mpinganjira’s name.
Amos got caught in Monkey Bay, while Joel was picked up in Mzuzu—turns out, the internet isn’t as safe for scammers as they thought. Now, they’re both facing impersonation and cyber spamming charges.
Police are reminding everyone: stealing someone’s name and pictures for clout or cash is a crime.
