TV personality Priscilla Kayira has shared details about a life-changing health scare following a recent car accident.
In a heartfelt post, Kayira revealed that while undergoing a routine hospital check-up after the accident—which left her with head injuries—doctors discovered she had Neurocysticercosis, a parasitic infection in the brain. The condition, often linked to consuming undercooked pork or contaminated food and water, can be dangerous if left untreated.
Thankfully, doctors caught it early, and she hadn’t started experiencing symptoms yet. She has been on medication for the past 30 days and is optimistic about her recovery, with a crucial check-up scheduled to determine if the cyst has dissolved.
“This experience has really opened my eyes to how important it is to pay attention to our health, even when everything seems okay on the outside,” she shared.
Kayira also mentioned that her doctors advised her to completely avoid pork, especially the popular Malawian street food “chiwaya pork.”
As she continues her healing journey, she promises to keep her followers updated and urges everyone to prioritize their health.
