Chileka Police have arrested a 40-year-old man, Blessings Mkandawire, after he was found with a pistol and 40 blank rounds of ammo in his BMW during a traffic stop.
According to police, Mkandawire—who hails from Zunga Village in Rumphi—was stopped at Ngumbe Roadblock around 4:30AM on Sunday, April 20, for drunk driving.
But what started as a traffic offence turned into something more serious after officers searched the car and found a Turkish-made 9mm Ekol Major Black pistol on the dashboard.
