Hazel Mak, the Malawian artist now based in Manchester, was one of 40 local creatives invited to the official MOBO Awards 2026 announcement. The ceremony is set for 26 March 2026 at Co-op Live Arena in England.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet Kanya King, the MOBO Awards’ CEO and founder, who has been leading the awards for 30 years as of 2026. The discussions highlighted how emerging artists can participate in the awards and even perform at the arena.

The MOBO Awards are celebrated for showcasing some of the world’s top musical talent, and the 2026 edition promises to be a landmark moment for Manchester’s creative community.
