President Mutharika Appoints Rev. Alexander Kambiri as Second Religious Advisor

President Peter Mutharika has appointed Reverend Alexander Kambiri as a second religious advisor to the Presidency.

In a statement released today by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Justin Saidi, Reverend Kambiri’s appointment takes effect immediately.

Reverend Kambiri is a minister of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) under the Nkhoma Synod. He will serve alongside Reverend Timothy Khoviwa, who remains the President’s principal religious advisor.

The appointment adds to the President’s advisory team on faith and religious matters, an area that plays a significant role in Malawi’s public life and governance.
