Malawian rapper Base Cube has taken a major step beyond music after travelling to Zambia to begin a new chapter with MultiChoice.
The deal will see Base Cube undergo professional film-making training, with a focus on cinematography and sound engineering — skills that are key in today’s music visuals, film, and content production space.
“The move signals a clear expansion of his creative path, showing that the rapper is not only investing in music but also in the technical side of storytelling and visual production.
“From growing up without Dstv to getting a deal with MultiChoice. It can only be God.” — said the rapper in reaction to the move.
With African artists increasingly crossing into film and media, Base Cube’s latest move places him among creatives building long-term careers beyond the microphone.
