Police in Dowa have arrested a 38-year-old man, Benly Chibwe, after his 6-year-old stepson drowned in a dam in a case that has shocked many.
According to police, Chibwe is accused of throwing the child into the dam following ongoing arguments with his wife over her children from a previous relationship.
The young boy reportedly drowned and was later confirmed dead.
Police say the suspect has been taken into custody and will face murder charges once investigations are completed.
