Beatmaker speaks on “Running Mate” and “Koso” Controversy — says he allegedly wasn’t paid by either artist

The producer behind the instrumentals for “Koso” and “Running Mate” has broken his silence in an interview with The Slice amid the ongoing dispute between Onesimus and Merchah.

According to the beatmaker, Klassick Beats, neither of the two artists paid for the beat.

He says Onesimus initially credited him as the producer of “Running Mate” before its release. However, when Klassick Beats reached out to ask why he was credited without purchasing the beat, Onesimus reportedly claimed he had already bought it.

Weeks later, according to Klassick Beats — the producer again asked for proof of payment, explaining that he always issues receipts for every sale. Onesimus allegedly responded that a friend had made the purchase on his behalf and promised to send the receipt — but allegedly never did.

After “Running Mate” dropped, the producer says he followed up again but got no response. He has since clarified that neither Onesimus nor Merchah officially purchased the beat.

Speaking to The Slice, Merchah’s producer, Chawabeatz, confirmed they did not pay for the beat but credited Klassick Beats as per his alleged condition to use it.

“He said if we don’t pay him, we can put it in our credits,” Chawabeatz said.

Onesimus is yet to comment on the allegations.
