4kaya Filmz has released a public statement addressing the allegations involving one of the actors in its upcoming film, Welcome to Maula Prison.
Though the statement doesn’t name the actor directly, it follows reports of Phwedo’s arrest on suspicion of engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl.
In the statement, released on April 23, the production company described the situation as “deeply concerning” and emphasized their commitment to ethical standards and professionalism.
They noted that the matter is currently under investigation by authorities and encouraged the public to allow due process to take its course.
“We are not in a position to comment on the specifics of the case at this time. Our thoughts are with all those who may be affected by this situation,” reads part of the statement signed by producer Kendall Kamwendo.
Despite the ongoing investigation, 4kaya Filmz confirmed that the premiere of Welcome to Maula Prison will go ahead as planned.
