Merchah has called out Onesimus, claiming the singer tried to take down his new song “Koso” from YouTube.
In a lengthy Facebook post where he actually doesn’t mention Onesimus’ name, Merchah repeatedly refers to him as “a big artist.”
However, it’s clear he’s talking about Onesimus as he dropped Running Mate which has the same beat as Merchah’s Koso.
Running Mate dropped on 25 September, while Koso dropped on 26 September.
In his Facebook post, Merchah explained that he and his producer Chawabeats used a YouTube beat for the track and that the same instrumental had also been used by other African artists before.
According to Merchah, he was surprised to see that the beat was used by Onesimus. He still went on to drop the song with the same beat, and later he received a request to remove his song from YouTube, allegedly from Onesimus’s team.
“Guy is even a bigger Brand than I am so why would he even be concerned about a song that’s done by an up and coming artist that literally looks up to people like him come on man you can do better than this why not just confront me and have a proper conversation and solve it maturely ma big artist akumalawi mmakhomelela ma upcoming artist why?”
The song has since been taken down by YouTube.

Onesimus is yet to share his side of the story.
